Old Millfieldian Rhys Ruddock on the bench for Ireland
In a new line-up for the Irish Rugby team, Old Millfieldian, Rhys Ruddock was on the bench for the game against New Zealand Maori last Friday (18th June 2010) and this week has been confirmed to be in the squad for the game against the Australians. Leinster forward Ruddock, the son of former Wales coach Mike Ruddock, had been captaining the Irish side at the Under-20 World Cup when he received his full international call up. John Mallett, Millfield's 1st XV coach said, "We are very very proud of what Rhys has achieved, he contributed so much more to Millfield beyond his very obvious talent for rugby - it's amazing that in less than a year he has gone from a Millfield classroom to full International rugby".
