Junior House Plays prove all you need is love...

Tuesday evening saw The Junior House play competition 2010, adjudicated by Mr. Steven Cole. The plays, attended by an enthusiastic home audience in Millfield's natural amphitheatre, were directed by Lower 6th drama students and based on the concept ‘summer of love' and the songs of the Beatles.

The winners, Kernick, St Anne's and Joan's Kitchen for "Hello, Goodbye..." brought to life a heady summer romance and engaged many of the audience in song. Best Writer was awarded to Laura Coates for HELP! (Orchards, Abbey and Rookery) and Best Director was awarded to Jamie Macdonald for "Eleanor Rigby" (Southfield, Butleigh, Shapwick and Portway) with particular reference to clever sequencing and Michael Elliott & James Byfield for "Hello, Goodbye..."

Interval entertainment was provided by Millfield's very own recording artist Polly Money, who wooed the audience with beautiful song and guitar playing.
