Millfield U15 British Chess Champion
Megan Owens has won the British U15 Chess Championship at the University of Kent, Canterbury in a gruelling two week competition in August. After winning the U15 title, she went on to represent Wales at an international team event in Poland where she scored 4.5/7 to help Wales finish in 9th out of the 20 nations who participated.
Megan, from Radstock, has been attending Millfield since 2008. Chess tutor, International Grandmaster Matthew Turner, said "This is a richly deserved accolade for the many hours of study Megan devotes to her chess. We are all very proud of her."
