Millfield hosts Som-r-set 4 talent
Millfield were pleased to host the Som-r-set 4 talent inaugural heat last Friday evening. The talent show, conceived by former Millfield pupil Christie Lambden, was hosted by Millfield in association with Rotary Clubs in Somerset.
The competition is an opportunity to showcase local talent in Somerset, and raise money for regional charities, with the ultimate prize being the opportunity to perform at the Glastonbury Festival in 2013 and a session in a recording studio.
The evening was a great success and six acts were selected through to the semi-finals. Many congratulations to Susie Thomas, Hettie James, Amiee Smith, Nakayi Mazinyi, Luke Ward and Olivia Petter who got through to the next round.
The next heat will be held at Yeovil College on November 26 at 6pm with semi-finals in January/February 2012 and the finals at the Playhouse Theatre, Weston-super-Mare on April 1, 2012.
The money raised throughout the competition will be shared between Children's Hospice South West, Somerset Community Foundation and the Healing Foundation.
