Millfield's first-ever British Schools Dry Slope Skiing Championship title
There were excellent results for Millfield's Skiing team, who travelled to Edinburgh last weekend to compete in the British Schools Dry Slope Skiing Championships.
The boys' team of Tom Doyle, Rob Faulkner, and Cody Mountain, captained by Nick Glavatsky-Yeadon, claimed Millfield's first-ever British Schools Championship title.
Competing against the best teams from England, Scotland and Wales, the boys claimed exceptional individual results including a 5th place overall for Tom Doyle.
The girls' team of Sasha Sidorova, Sophie Stammers, Julia Stavegren-Rinnan and Harriet Sumner claimed an excellent 5th place.
Richard Smith, tutor in charge of Skiing at Millfield said, "I'm so pleased for both teams as they have been working exceptionally hard this year. Traditionally we're better on snow so this is a great achievement for the pupils".
The Millfield Skiing team will now be turning their sights to the British Schools snow competitions taking place in Meiringen and Flaine in the New Year.
