John trained with Price Waterhouse and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1968. He went on to become a Senior Partner of Berkeley Jackson, West Country firm of Chartered Accountants, between 1970 - 2000. From the years 2000 – 2006, John was a West Country Director of Tenon Group Plc, national firm of Chartered Accountants and Financial Advisers.
From 2006, John has been the Senior Partner of Old Mill Accountancy LLP and Old Mill Financial Services LLP after a management buyout. The firm has offices in Exeter, Devizes, Shepton Mallet and Yeovil. John has considerable experience of school accounts, family businesses, personal and corporate taxation, and also wide experience as a trustee of charitable and family trusts.
John was appointed a Governor in 2009. Three of his four children attended Millfield as students.
