Symposium
In addition to various Biology fieldtrips, Millfield also holds an annual Symposium. Throughout this Sixth Form pupils enjoy lectures from a number of prominent researchers, professors and scientists so as to further expand and explore their interests in the field.
This year - our 16th - we invited John Schollar from the University of Reading, Dr Cressida Lyon from the Bristol Heart Institute, Professor Gillian Griffiths from the University of Cambridge, and Professor Laurie Peter from the University of Bath. Subject matter varied enormously, from Heart Disease to Photosynthesis and Cell Recycling. This is another way in which we strive to both enthuse pupils in the subject, and assist them for their final exams.
