A-Level Business Studies
This course provides the perfect entry point to Business. Covering every aspect of the subject from HR to the economy, marketing and accounting and finance, pupils will cover every aspect of an organisation and the environment it inhabits.
The course is anchored in the modern world of commerce, with much analysis of real life situations and events. Consequently, pupils often tackle case studies, creating objectives, strategies and recommending potential courses of action.
AS-Level Business Studies
This course consists of two units both of which are subject to a written exam:
Planning and financing a business
Pupils learn what it takes to start a business and conduct its financial planning. From protecting business ideas to developing business plans and raising finance, the unit touchs on every aspect of start-ups.
Managing the business
A natural progression, this unit concentrates on the management of finance, people, operations management and marketing. Pupils will study a diverse base of related topics including motivation, marketing, measuring effectiveness in the workforce and improving cash flow.
A2-Level Business Studies
The course builds upon the learning developed at AS-level. Pupils cover two units, both of which involve a written examination.
Strategies for success
Here we investigate setting objectives, business strategy formulation and performance measurement.
The business environment and managing change
This unit investigates the relationship between businesses and external factors. It examines how they impact upon organisations and how they react. A number of themes are also investigated, such as leadership, corporate culture and managing change.
