Course Content and Assessment

What contact will I have with real businesses?
This two year course has three weeks of work experience integrated into it - two weeks in year one and one in year two.

How does BTEC Business differ from A-level Business Studies?
BTEC Business is assessed through coursework whilst AL BS is assessed through examinations. BTEC is equivalent to two A-levels and BS is a single A-level. BTEC is more student-centred and research based with individual pupil assignments whereas AL is more textbook based with much teaching from the front of the class. Both qualifications provide an exciting insight into the business world.

Twelve units need to be completed over two years to gain the BTEC Business Diploma (2 A-level equivalent). The first four units listed below are mandatory and a further eight option units should also be chosen.

You will be assessed entirely through coursework.
