Facilities
Our Design and Technology Centre bristles with hi-tech equipment, including CADCAM programmes, CNC machinery and 3D prototypers. It’s the perfect proving ground for tomorrow’s designers and would be engineers to prepare for industry.
The facility probably has the best-equipped workshops in the country. Each one is linked to a design studio with 16 PCs spread around ample work surfaces. There are two large workshops and four studios on two floors.
The department also has:
•A purpose built heat treatment area
•A variety of specialist equipment including Mig and Tig welding
•A Plasma cutter
•Three Industrial CNC Routers
•A Rapid Phototype Machine and Membrane Press
