Competitions
For the last four years, we have participated in the Times/Bank of England Target 2.0 national schools’ competition.
This competition challenges pupils to demonstrate their understanding of the economy and how monetary policy impacts upon it.
Participants analyse the UK economy and present their findings to the Bank of England. As part of the process they are expected to:
• Assess the outlook for the economy and inflation
• Present findings
• Recommend an increase, decrease, or no change in the interest rate.
The team then answers demanding questions based on their presentation.
In 2009 we achieved notable success by winning the regional heats against very stiff competition.
