Trips
Fieldwork is an essential part of learning Geography. Consequently several curriculum-linked trips are organised throughout the year. From the Dorset Coastline, and working farms to far-flung destinations such as Nepal and Morocco, pupils at Millfield will experience Geography first hand.
Enhancing understanding and learning
Fieldwork plays a key part in GCSEs and A-Levels. At GCSE the collection and analysis of primary data accounts for 25% of the final grade. A-Level students regularly undertake fieldwork across a range of locations. These include two residential courses. Fieldwork enhances a pupil’s understanding of Geography as they apply their learning to real life situations.
