Welcome to the Geography Department

Geography at Millfield is inspiring and enjoyable in equal parts. It nurtures a finer appreciation of our environment and world at large. This makes Geography the perfect preparation for the workplace or further study.

Geography courses at Millfield

All pupils study Geography from Key Stage 3. Its diverse range of topics and the skills it encourages ensure that practically all students take it to GCSE standard with many continuing to study it at A-level.

Exceptional staff and facilities

This multifaceted syllabus demands the best facilities and teaching staff. Consequently, the department benefits from 10 specialist rooms, a resource centre, ICT, reference library and highly experienced teaching team. Many of whom are examiners and/or published academics.

This combination of experienced teaching staff and excellent facilities has created an empowering and supportive environment. One that caters for students of all abilities and needs.Teaching focuses on developing an understanding of:

To further focus and enhance learning we regularly take pupils on field trips ranging from the local quarries to Morocco, Iceland and beyond.
