Welcome to Government and Politics
Walk into any of our classes on this course and you’ll hear plenty of debate. At Millfield we bring our pupils face-to-face with this ever-changing subject. We use the latest teaching tools and technologies to help pupils analyse subject matter and form their opinions and arguments.
Often taken in association with History, AS and A2-Level Government and Politics is very much a subject in its own right and recognised by universities.
Entry requirements
We welcome pupils with a broad range of abilities. You don’t need a string of GCSE A/A* grades to come aboard. But what you do need is an open mind, interest in current fairs and the ability to express an opinion.
AS-Level Government and Politics
From examining parties and pressure groups to elections and the three areas of government, the course delivers a comprehensive and thought-provoking journey through UK politics.
A2-Level
From the UK we move on to the US system and contrast it with our own. Pupils then compare these with other styles of government around the world. Due to its almost endless possibilities pupils find this course highly rewarding.
