Welcome to Law
At Millfield, Law is available at AS and A2-Level. It provides a fascinating insight and introduction to the subject. Well resourced and combining exceptional teaching team with ‘field trips’ to courts, the course provides a ready taster for students considering a career in the Legal services. However, it is not essential for studying the subject at University.
AS-Level Law
The AS-Level focuses on the workings of the English Legal System. Students learn about the court systems and personnel involved whilst discussing many controversial issues and questions. A second module introduces judicial reasoning and sources of English Law. This is a source-based paper featuring a problem-solving format.
A2-Level Law
This course examines Criminal Law in detail and includes essay and problem questions. There is also a synoptic open source module. In this, students discuss specified issues, drawing on their knowledge of the whole course.
