Design Technology offers an impressive range of exciting activities: welding, fabrication, casting, digital photography, computer programs for CAD/CAM and graphics programs such as Coreldraw. A superb new facility was completed in 2005 which is well equipped with high and low tech facilities in both workshops and studios. All kinds of exciting skills and techniques are learnt such as working in a variety of materials – wood, metal, plastics as well as other media such as clay and plaster. Students are able to experience all types of design; Graphics, Product design, Resistant materials and Electronics are just some of the subjects on offer. Students are involved with Interior Design, Fashion Design, Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Product Design and produce items ranging from mobile phones to guitars! The Arkwright Scholarship is an award we encourage students to apply for and usually 2 of the best students are put forward each year.

The Art, Design and Technology Department is a truly creative and challenging department where students can use their imaginative, innovative and practical skills.
