Boarding at Millfield

Pastoral Inspection Report Millfield offers 18 boarding houses – situated either on or within easy distance of the campus. Houses are run by the teaching staff as an extension to their family home and provide all boarders with a warm and supportive atmosphere. As a guide the new houses contain on average 60 boys and 54 girls.

It is common for pupils to remain in the same house during their time at the School although 2 houses have been designated as sixth formers only. In order to maintain balanced and open relationships between the sexes at Millfield, houses have been grouped for competitive and social events. Inter-house competitions involve all major and many minor games, debating and choral singing.
