Originally located in Street, Orchards House moved to Chindit Avenue, its new site, in 2003. It possibly gained its name because the original house was surrounded by an apple orchard. There are some longstanding traditions at Orchards including the Drone's Club and a latin House Song. Orchards has two common rooms and a Prefects' common room, a play station room and a pool room.
Before becoming Houseparents of Orchards, Murray and Jane were Assistant Houseparents in Keens Elm for three years. Murray was also previously a Prefect Team Leader, 2nd team cricket coach and U14A hockey coach. He teaches in the LSC department.
Prior to joining Millfield, Murray taught at an independent senior school and Jane taught at an independent prep school in South Africa for two years.
Their interests include water skiing and squash and as an English teacher Murray loves to read. The Cole-Edwards have one child, Emma aged one, so being parents to a young girl means they are always kept on their toes!
