Portway House, which is a Sixth Form girls' house, used to be offsite on Portway Road and moved to its new location opposite the main school campus in 2007. At this point the house grew in numbers but also acquired a new purpose-built building. Although only three minutes walk from the dining room, the location gives a sense of ‘going home' at the end of the day. There is a pool table, a large garden and cookers so that the girls can make hot meals.

Sarah Key and Richard Bennett became Portway's houseparents in September 2010. They aim to create a family atmosphere where girls can be themselves and develop lifelong friendships. They also hope that Portway's girls will maintain high standards and keep up the tradition of being the smartest in appearance, the hardest working and the most enthusiastic about all that Millfield has to offer.

Prior to joining Portway, Sarah was Assistant Houseparent at Abbey House for three years and Liaison Tutor before that. She also teaches Art and is in charge of Art Scholars. Before joining Millfield, Sarah was a Lecturer in Visual Culture and a practicing artist.

Richard is a Performance Manager at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Their hobbies and interests include travelling, hill walking, swimming and hockey.

Sarah and Richard have two dogs, Wilma and Gus.
