Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much money do we need every week?

A: It depends how often you visit Street, or the Tuck Shop. Dependant on age, generally about £10 should cover most if not everything.

 

Q: How many games sessions do we have to do?

A: Most pupils take 3 games sessions a week.

 

Q: What happens if we are not sporty, are there other things to do?

A: There are many other things to do here - MAP activities, music, drama, art, dance - you name it!

 

Q: Is it easy to make friends?

A: It certainly seems a bit daunting joining such a big school, but with small classes you can learn quickly that everyone is really friendly and easy to get along with.

 

Q: How many people will I share a room with?

A: In the first year (Year 9) you could share with one, two or three other pupils. In the following years you will share with one other person and in the Sixth Form generally you will have a single room.

 

Q: Where is the favourite place to chill out with friends?

A: It depends who you are, but great places to hang out include the Tuck Shop and the 6th Form Bar (for Upper Sixth pupils only). Many pupils gather at the campus astro after prep in the evening,

 

Q: What's the food like?

A: The food here is excellent - always fresh and there is always a healthy option.

 

Q: What do we do on weekends?

A: You can stay in, and hang out with your friends, do sport activities - just generally relax, or you can go on exeat. The facilities are also open on Sunday afternoon. For more detail, click here.

 

Q: Are we allowed home every weekend?

A: Not every weekend. You are allowed out 3 times a term in the Spring and Summer terms and 4 times in the Autumn term (unless there are special circumstances).

 

Q: Are we allowed to visit any friends we make at their boarding houses?

A: Yes, you certainly are - with most boarding house close together you can visit each other most times you would want to.
