On Thursday 24th November Millfield defeated Winchester College 5-1 in the first round of the National Schools' Chess Championships.

On Monday 14th November, Glastonbury played their first match in the Somerset Cup. Three Millfield students took part with wins for Rhys Cumming (on board 1), Yasmin Sadykova and Carlos Guzman. Glastonbury defeated Norton Radstock 7.5 - 0.5
On October 15th and 16th 2011, 160 chessplayers did battle for the 'Millfield Horse' and the prestigeous title of Millfield International Champions 2011. A hard fought contest eventually saw Winchester College emerge as Champions to retain their title from 2010. Millfield enjoyed success at the individual level with Rhys Cumming winning the U18 title and Yasmin Sadykova becoming the top girl.
