Who can take part?
Dance is an extremely popular games option – there are usually over 100 pupils who dance as part of their games or MAP (Millfield Activities Programme). Classes are available in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Street Dancing and even Cheerleading! We offer a wide range of Ballet classes, such as ‘Ballet Just for Fun!’ for true beginners, and tutor pupils all the way up from Grade 1 to 8. In other disciplines, lessons range from beginners to advance level. The wide choice of sessions ensures pupils of all standards are catered for.
What's involved?
Three dancing tutors prepare pupils for exam work, take junior and senior dance classes, and act as choreographers for dance shows and school musicals. Many pupils participate in our musicals, often well over a hundred!
Also, at the start of the year auditions are held to form the schools elite dance troupe; ‘Bazique’. This is designed for the 10 to 12 most experienced pupils. Whatever your standard, you’ll find something to enjoy.
