Who can take part?
The School runs two very successful ski teams; one male, one female. Consistent performances in National Schools’ Championships prove how Millfield ranks as one of the best schools for Ski instruction and development on the British Isles. Training and conditioning is tailored to each pupil, allowing them to improve at a pace and style that they enjoy.
What’s involved?
Typically we would spend the Autumn Term training and competing on artificial slopes. At the beginning of December we have our race camp in Tignes France, where the squad is trained by British Ski Academy coaches. This camp includes training Giant Slalom, Slalom and Freestyle, with races and competitions at the end of the week. The squad attends 3 competitions in the Spring Term; the British Schoolgirls and Schoolboys races in France and Switzerland, and the British Interschools Ski Challenge in France. Wherever possible, we also support racers who attend FIS and other ski races during school time.
