Chris Robshaw to lead England at Six Nations

Congratulations to ex-Millfield pupil Chris Robshaw, who has been chosen as Captain of the England rugby team for the first two games of the 2012 Six Nations.

Chris, also Captain of Harlequins, attended both Millfield Prep School and Senior School from 1997-2004.

The 25-year-old flanker succeeds Lewis Moody as England skipper and will lead his country out at Murrayfield for Saturday's match against Scotland.

"Chris was totally dedicated to his rugby whether it was in training or in our matches. He always led by example and gave nothing less than 100% effort" said Dave Hill, Chris's coach at the Preparatory School.

"He was absolutely fearless. He was always the first at the breakdown and he never missed a tackle. From an early age he quickly established himself as a player of immense promise."

John Mallett, Millfield's Director of Rugby, said "Chris is highly regarded throughout Millfield, by all those who taught or coached him during his time here."

"He is recognised by all for his hard work, modesty and leadership. It is exciting news for all of Millfield Rugby."

Five other former Preparatory pupils, currently Senior School players, will be hoping to emulate Chris by playing international rugby in the near future.

Tom Bellak and James Bloxham both played for England U18s against Wales recently, with Max Northcote-Green and Tom Ellis hoping to join their schoolmates, while Robbie Tait eyes selection for Scotland in the same age group.
