The Arts Meyer Theatre

Meyer Theatre

The Meyer Theatre is a fantastic building with a flexible hydraulic stage and seating facility so that productions may be performed in-the-round, or with a thrust stage, as a traditional proscenium arch, or with all the seats pushed back to convert the building into an open studio space. The theatre can accommodate audiences of up to 450 and is used for many school events such as drama and dance productions, music recitals and concerts, assemblies, movie showings, lectures and numerous other events.

During the last few years, the Meyer has hosted a number of visiting theatre companies in order to allow the students to experience a wide range of theatrical concepts, cultures and traditions.

Located within the theatre building are upper and lower foyer areas where the public may enjoy a drink before, after and during events. These spaces are also used by the Drama department as teaching areas and spaces for rehearsal. There are also two other smaller studio spaces within the building which are used for the teaching of AS/A2 and GCSE Drama.
