I felt that I got a head start on all the new students who joined Millfield in Lower Sixth because I had already had a year to settle in. I got to know the teachers, the campus and all the opportunities available during Year 11 so when I started Lower Sixth I already had friends and could fully immerse myself in using all of the facilities straight away and was comfortable in my surroundings. I was able to make more of my Sixth Form experience and that was really valuable.

Course Details
It was great to get to know the school joining in Year 11 as it meant that I could try a lot of things before entering Sixth Form. I learnt what I enjoyed and what I wanted to continue studying.
You have time to explore everything on offer at Millfield with no strings attached and you will find friends quickly. You will also feel a lot more confident going into Sixth Form as when the time comes you know everyone in your year group and they know you.

16+ Options after the 11@Millfield:
Subjects will award grades on a 1-9 attainment scale with EGRs (Estimated Grade Range) used in reporting periods each half term to monitor progress. Students wishing to access Sixth Form at Millfield with the 11@Millfield programme will be required to fulfil the same points criteria as students on a full GCSE programme. A score of 22 points from the top five subjects is required to enter Sixth Form. A score of 30 points from the top six subjects is required to enter Sixth Form on an A level programme. Individual A level courses have their own criteria for entry and these criteria must be met in the relevant subjects studied on the 11@Millfield programme. Full details may be found in the Sixth Form options booklet here.
