Military Families
We are pleased to announce that for September 2024 we have created an exclusive package for military families in receipt of CEA, where families pay only 10% of our boarding fee in addition to CEA.
We value our service families and in recognition of your service we offer this significant reduction in school fees.
For the academic year 2024-25, this equates to CEA plus parental contribution of:
Millfield Prep Boarding place - £3,635 for the year
Millfield Boarding place - £4,968 for the year
(Based on fees as published on our website. Fees are reviewed annually, and may increase due to VAT depending on the outcome of the UK election.)
The boarding fee includes tuition, most activities at school, breakfast, three-course lunch, three-course supper, laundry, games and prep, textbook loan, pupils’ personal accident insurance, contribution to travel and accommodation when representing the school, and internet access. Please be aware that fees in many other schools are not inclusive of all of the above and are charged as ‘extras’ on termly bills.
Millfield is home to more than 40 military children and we have many former military personnel working at the school. We understand that a good, consistent and stable education is important to military families. With Millfield Prep having 130 full-time boarders and Millfield being a full boarding school of 950 students, including 250 British expats, we offer an outstanding education, excellent learning support, world class sporting programmes and facilities, unrivalled co-curricular programmes, and a home from home environment.
Millfield and Millfield Prep are near RNAS Yeovilton, only 60 – 90 minutes from the Salisbury Plain Garrisons and 2 hours from Plymouth, RAF Odiham and RAF Brize Norton.
Millfield Prep Head Dan Thornburn is from a military family himself, attending boarding school as a child, so he knows first hand what life is like for serving personnel and their families. Millfield Prep pupils can visit Grandparents or relations who live in the local area after school commitments on a Saturday and on Sundays, by arrangement with their house parent.
At Millfield, as a full boarding school, our students are present throughout much of the term and our houses do not empty at weekends. However, students can take a few leave weekends at a time of their choosing through the term to see families.
We recommend you come for an open day or personal tour. You can also book a taster experience at Millfield Prep.
