Scholarship & Bursaries
Millfield Prep
We award a number of Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships each year for entry into Years 6, 7 and 8 (internal into Years 6 and 7 only).
Drama scholarships will be awarded for the first time in September 2024, recognising candidates who want to actively engage in all areas of the subject and who have an obvious flair and enthusiasm for drama.
The Millfield Prep Award launched last year, recognising Prep pupils who are talented all-rounders. Please note that this award is only for Years 6, 7 and 8 whilst at Millfield Prep School and will end on transfer to Year 9. Pupils who hold a Millfield Prep Award may apply for a Scholarship for entry into Year 9 and these are currently available for Academic, Co-curricular and Sport.
All Scholarships carry a maximum fee reduction of up to 10%. Parents can apply to have a Scholarship augmented by a bursary, subject to a means test. Alternatively, parents who do not require financial assistance may accept their child's Scholarship on an honorary basis.
Bursaries may be available for entry to Millfield Prep (Year 6 upwards) in cases where a pupil does not meet the requirements for a scholarship and where there is genuine financial need. Bursaries take the form of a fee reduction (of up to 100% in exceptional circumstances) to a level dependent on the parents’ financial resources. Parents applying for a bursary will be asked to complete a confidential financial circumstances form, available from the Fees Department. All awards are subject to the school’s ability to fund them within the context of its overall budget, and therefore levels cannot be guaranteed.
Please do not hesitate to contact our Prep Admissions team on prepadmissions@millfieldschool.com should you have any queries. Pupils who live overseas should contact the Admissions department prior to submitting a scholarship application.
