Scholarship & Bursaries
Millfield Prep
We award a number of Academic, Art, Music and Sports Scholarships each year for entry into Years 6, 7 and 8 (internal into Years 6 and 7 only). If you are interested in an internal scholarship into Years 6 and 7 please contact the Admissions Team E: prepadmissions@millfieldschool.com
Scholarships may be honorary or carry a fee reduction of up to 10%. If a scholarship has been awarded, parents in genuine financial need can also apply for a means-tested bursary. Please email our admissions team on admissions@millfieldprep.com if you wish to find out more or if you are an internal candidate. Pupils who live overseas, should contact the Admissions Department prior to submitting a scholarship application form.
The deadline for Scholarship applications, for entry in September 2023, is December 1st 2022.
Scholarship assessment dates are usually held in December and January. Specific dates will be published soon. Candidates will be notified which of the dates they will be required to attend upon receipt of your registration form and scholarship application.

Scholarships are available for entry into Year 9 or the Lower Sixth. Scholarships for September 2022 entry have closed.
Academic, Art, Chess, Computer Programming, Dance, Drama, Music, Product Design and Sport Scholarships are awarded annually to candidates who are exceptionally talented in any one or two of these disciplines.
Scholarships carry a maximum fee reduction of up to 10%. If a scholarship has been awarded, parents in genuine financial need can also apply for a means-tested bursary by completing a confidential financial circumstances form. Bursaries take the form of a fee reduction (of up to 100% in exceptional circumstances) to a level dependent on the parents’ financial resources. All awards are subject to the school’s ability to fund them within the context of its overall budget, and therefore levels cannot be guaranteed.
Scholarship assessments take place in the academic year preceding entry and are open to students who have an excellent school report and recommendation from their headteacher. Candidates should be under 13 years of age on the 1 September 2022 if they are applying for a Year 9 Scholarship for September 2023 entry.
