I chose to come to Millfield to expand the sporting and academic opportunities available to me and to develop my independence. I think Millfield is very different due to the variety of people you meet, and their passions.

My favourite thing about being at Millfield is the friendships I’ve made in the years I’ve been here. I feel that through my boarding house, rugby and football team I’ve made lasting friendships due to the supportive and fun values that are prioritised and emulated.

I’m currently studying maths, further maths, chemistry and physics for A levels, and whilst I’m not too sure about my hopes for the future, I would like to stay within the STEM field. After Sixth Form I hope to go to university in America, so that I’m able to continue playing rugby alongside my academics, and to be able to have a new experience that is so different to what I’ve become accustomed to.

I play rugby 7s as my main sport at Millfield and out of school. I train with UR7s academy, and last summer I trained with the England mixed U18s touch team. Additionally, I play football as my second sport for the Millfield first team. However, other than sport, I also play the guitar during my free time.

A piece of advice that I would give to someone joining Millfield would be to take advantage of the range of activities that the school provides for you, as it is helpful for finding new interests. For example, by trying different MAPs each term, you may find a new hobby.
