I joined Millfield for a multitude of reasons; it would allow me to balance everything I’m passionate about, including academics, music and football, surrounded by an excellent support system of teachers and coaches. The range and standard of Millfield’s facilities, from the gyms to football pitches, give me the opportunity to train and perform at the highest level possible, and the busy, timetable-packed days help me to become more organised and independent, preparing me for the future.
No day is the same when boarding at Millfield, but the experience means that I am constantly inspired to perform at my best.
The unrivalled number of co-curricular activities, in addition to the high-performance sports on offer, makes for a school where you have everything at your fingertips to achieve anything you set your mind to.
My favourite thing about Millfield is the range of people I have met from different backgrounds and cultures. The international community plays an important role in the school, which allows us to connect and network with Old Millfieldians, who have generously given us insights into their careers. Since being a boarder is quite a full-on experience, with everyone going through similar worries or difficulties, the friendships I have developed are amazing and will be me with for life.

I am passionate about music and play the clarinet and piano. I participate in the orchestra, symphonic winds, a chamber group, and Millfield Chorale. I am busy preparing to take my Diploma in the clarinet and Grade 7 piano shortly. I am also one of the captains of the girls' football team. I find that being part of such a close-knit group of people, not only provides camaraderie but also ensures that I have a tight knit group of friends outside of my house.
The vast range of music groups and ensembles on offer is incredible – I’m never short of opportunities to try something new.
If you are considering joining Millfield, I would just say, go for it! When I joined Millfield in Lower Sixth, I was slightly apprehensive due to having never boarded before, but the amount of support I received from staff and other students instantly made me feel at home. Joining Millfield was definitely the right decision as it has allowed me to discover my own brilliance in an environment where everyone is encouraged to thrive and be their authentic self.

“Millfield is unlike any other school because it has such a diverse range of students and such a talented cohort of like-minded people who are driven by their goals.”
