Upper Sixth (joined in Lower Sixth)

I chose to come to Millfield after it was recommended by numerous coaches and teachers in the Middle East for its prestige, not just for sport but for academics also. I was in awe of the programme set up by the triathlon department and felt like it was the right decision to make the step and move into the school I now call home. After being here for just over a year and a half I can confidentially say it has exceeded all of my expectations and has opened a wide variety of opportunities for myself in all aspects of my career, placing me on the right track to success.

Millfield was unlike any other school me and my family had ever heard of or experienced.

Before Millfield, I had the opportunity to study at five different schools, each offering their own aspect of teaching and development. Within each of these schools they all lacked something that Millfield didn't, I feel this is because of the great ability the school has to tailor programmes, training and teaching to all individuals. Furthermore, Millfield supplies a large range of high-end coaches and teachers each which help to balance sport, music, art, drama and academics.

My favourite thing about Millfield is the range of activities. I enjoy getting involved in different things, working as a team and collaborating with other people while making friends. At Millfield I can do just that, one weekend for example I could be paintballing, the next I could be cleaning a beach, the weekend after I could be out with my friends in Street.

I compete as an international athlete in a number of local and ITU races in triathlon. I was selected as a prefect for my final year and enjoy taking part in outdoor activities. I am currently completing my gold award for DofE and volunteer most weekends at the beach and community garden.

I am studying biology, business and geography A levels and am looking to study ecology/zoology at university.
