Ellie - Year 9 - Joined Millfield in Year 9
At Millfield, I am primarily involved in horse-riding. I chose Millfield as it’s not like any other schools and attending has really helped my riding. I feel that if I hadn’t made the decision to go to Millfield I would not be where I am now with the sport. It has thoroughly improved my confidence and given me opportunities that nowhere else can offer. I grew up in an equestrian family, so I have been riding since I can remember and have always felt very passionate about the sport and the connection that you can get with horses. My family have inspired me, in addition to all my riding coaches who motivate me on a daily basis in our lessons.

I love the opportunities that Millfield has to offer in different sports and at different levels. Plus, the external coaches are some of the best in their sport, which is really exciting. The school also offers excellent academic learning. As I’m in Year 9, I can study a wide variety of subjects, all of which I have found really enjoyable and am achieving good marks in and I have welcomed the interesting challenges they present. I particularly enjoy Geography, Art & Design and Biology, but I have been pleased that my hard work and effort in all my subjects has paid off and been recognised, as I have recently received a Headmaster’s Commendations.

My Housemistress is always there to help, alongside my best friends. Outside of my boarding house my riding coaches are there to support me, not just for riding, but in general.
