I chose Millfield because it stood out above all the other schools I looked at for its comprehensive approach to education, its stunning countryside setting and amazing facilities. The school emphasises not only strong academics but also sports and performing arts, which are two areas I really enjoy. The collaborative environment encourages creativity and teamwork, making it a perfect place for someone like me who wants to explore various passions without having to choose just one.

My favorite thing about Millfield is the incredible sense of community. Everyone here is so welcoming and supportive, which makes it easy to connect with others. I also love the way the school values all aspects of student life, from academics to extracurricular activities, creating a balanced and enriching experience. I’ve met some great people and made a lot of friends.

I'm currently in Year 9 and have just selected my GCSEs , it was tough because I like lots of the subjects on offer. I finally chose PE, geography and drama. My dream would be to be a professional athlete but I’m also aware this is a relatively short career so I definitely want to have a back up option such as finance or something in performing arts.

I’ve been involved in so many things, there’s too many to mention. That’s the thing about Millfield, you are always busy and there is always something going on. My favourite sports are rugby, football and athletics, so I’m focused on those with regular strength and conditioning. I’ve also been able to try new things such as caving and golf. We’ve also already been on camp, visited the Globe theatre with the drama department to watch Twelfth Night, an overnight rugby tour and football tour to Barcelona. I also participated in the House Song competition and drama club. These activities have been really rewarding, helping me develop my skills and build lasting friendships and memories.

My advice would be to dive into everything Millfield has to offer. Don’t be afraid to try new things, whether it’s a subject you’re not familiar with or a sport you’ve never played before. The school encourages exploration and growth, so take advantage of that and connect with the diverse community here. You’ll find that the experiences you gain will shape you in ways you might not expect. Push yourself out your comfort zone and you won’t regret it.
