I chose to join Millfield in Year 9 mainly for rugby. I was looking at other top rugby schools in the country and Millfield instantly was my favourite. I saw the amazing facilities online then in person when I came for my scholarship day. I saw the rugby pitches, the cricket centre, golf centre, I was blown away. Instantly after my scholarship day I knew this was where I wanted to go.

My favourite thing about Millfield is how much sport we get to do. I do sport every day of the week and some days three times. I can do sport most break times and almost every day after school, then on Wednesday and Saturdays we often have matches.

For GCSEs I am studying business, PE, history, and hospitality and catering. In the future my goal is to be a professional rugby player. This is not guaranteed so if that doesn’t work out both my Dad and brother are in sales so that is definitely an idea. I’m still deciding on whether to go to university, it will depend on how rugby is going!

I personally love boarding. It has taught me so many different lessons and made me a lot more independent. It is also so much fun being with your best friends everyday, it is amazing. You get to spend so much time with your closest friends.

I have been a part of a few different sports teams including Year 9 playing A team hockey, Year 10 A team cricket and Year 11 playing A team rugby. I was briefly part of the CCF program in Year 9 which I really enjoyed. The best thing I found was getting stuck into as many sports and activities as you can.

My main piece of advice would be to make sure Millfield is right for you. What I found through rugby is that the environment is competitive and challenging. This, I’m sure, is similar in music and drama. You won't always get picked for drama or for the team, so Millfield helps you to learn how to positively deal with failure which is something that can shape you in many different ways.
