I chose to come to Millfield in Year 9 because it was clear to me that the opportunities for sport here far exceeded any other school. Millfield has allowed me to play rugby and hockey at the same time to a higher level than before.

"My favourite thing about Millfield is boarding"

My favourite thing about Millfield is boarding, especially in my senior house Joan's Kitchen. Year 9 was my first time boarding but I settled in quickly and it has been an amazing experience since. I enjoy the independence and freedom that comes with boarding, and this has only grew in Year 10 and 11 in Joan's Kitchen.

In the evenings as a house, we go onto the hard courts to play football. At weekends we use as many of the facilities available as possible like the cricket nets, golf course or tennis courts. We have a lot of fun and I have made friends that I hope to last a long time.

Whilst at Millfield I have played rugby and hockey as my main focus and in the summer I play cricket and athletics.

In Year 9, I would recommend doing as many things as possible because you don't realise that what you try may become your passion that you continue to do. Year 9 is an opportunity to do different things before exams start in Year 11.
