I chose to come to Millfield because it offers a unique, high-achieving environment that perfectly balances academics with sports, especially swimming for me. The school’s commitment to excellence in both fields is impressive and aligns with my aspirations.

Additionally, I appreciate Millfield's focus on fostering independence in students. This combination of rigorous academics and a strong sports program, along with the chance to become more self-reliant, makes Millfield stand out among other schools.

Being housed together in Year 9 has enabled me to develop a wide network of friends before we enter Year 10 and are divided into the senior houses. I am also thankful that I am only steps away from the swimming pool, which means I don’t have to wake up as early as I normally would for morning training.

One of the subjects I am studying is Mandarin. This was one of the deciding factors in choosing Millfield as I have been studying Mandarin since I was five years old, and other schools we visited did not offer it. I am currently looking at GCSE options for next year.

"Biology is one of my favourite subjects because it helps me understand myself and the world. Plus, exploring different creatures and ecosystems is always an adventure."

I am passionate about swimming and have participated in numerous competitions, honing my skills and competing against peers. In addition to swimming, I have taken vocal lessons, which have allowed me to develop my musical abilities and perform in various settings.

Golf is another sport I enjoy, where I not only appreciate the physical challenge but also the strategic elements of the game. Furthermore, I have been a member of the Millfield Combined Cadet Force (CCF), where I developed leadership skills and teamwork while participating in various training exercises. Together, these activities have helped shape my interests and abilities outside of academics.

My advice to anyone considering joining Millfield School would be to embrace the unique opportunities it offers, take advantage of the vast array of co-curricular activities available, as they provide excellent avenues for personal growth and teamwork.
