I chose to come here because of the amazing sports facilities, great coaching, and the many sporting opportunities you get. Also because it attracts very good athletes which would challenge and support me in my sporting journey.

My favourite thing about Millfield is meeting new friends, and how I’m looked after in my various sports by the sports staff.

This is the first time I’ve been a boarder, and it is so much fun. I found settling in relatively easy as I was surrounded by kind people. On the weekends me and my friends go to Street, play in the garden with a football or cricket ball, and we play hockey on the Astro. I have sport every evening but after that I do my homework and chat to my friends.

I take part in hockey, cricket, tennis, and football. I also really enjoy art, DT, and food technology.

I love hockey because it's so much fun and it’s a great team sport. The coaches are brilliant. They are supportive of my hockey journey both inside and outside of school. I especially enjoy my Individual Development Programme (IDP) sessions where I can focus on the areas I want to improve. I have just been on a hockey tour with Millfield to Barcelona which was amazing.

I love cricket because it’s technical and challenging. I enjoy being in the field and diving for catches. I’ve always played with my Dad and one day I want to be better than him. The coaches are really nice and always spot areas to improve and work on. I am really impressed with how the coaches communicate with the Somerset Emerging Player Programme (EPP) to look at an overview of what areas I am working on at school and with Somerset.

I’m choosing my GCSEs at the moment and my options might be geography, art, PE, or Latin. In the future, I hope to represent England in either hockey or cricket, and maybe go to a university in the US.

My advice to someone thinking about joining Millfield would be to definitely come as you will be really well looked after, you will be busy and have a great time.
