When I first came to Millfield, it was a daunting experience, and I wasn’t so sure I would enjoy it. But as my time here has come to a close, I realise how much I appreciate Millfield as the school has enabled me to make sense of myself and develop an idea as to where I want to go in life. As I go onto my next stage of education, I hope to continue being connected with Millfield.

During Sixth Form, I undertook three A levels in economics, English Literature and Chinese with the aim of studying law at the University of Bristol. Throughout my A level studies, my teachers continually challenged me in terms of developing the skills of analysis and critical thinking, thus contributing to my desire to study law, with great interests surrounding jurisprudence.

Alongside my studies, the majority of my time at Millfield was spent within the dance department. As a boarder, the dance community for me has become integral. You create a tightly knit dance community where you receive great amounts of support—especially settling in as a boarder. I have made great friends as well as having the opportunity to be taught by amazing dance teachers. During the year external dance companies come in and do workshops, this is great as you are able to expose yourself to the different facet of dance, being able to incorporate these newfound based skills into your own style of dance. It was a goal of mine to undertake a RAD Grade ballet exam before leaving school, which I was pleased to complete in the Lower Sixth. At university, I plan to continue dancing and having the opportunity to perform.
