Lower Sixth (joined in Year 9)
I came to Millfield because I felt it was the best place that would allow me to pursue all my interests. With the amazing facilities the school has to offer, I knew all my academic, sporting and musical needs would be adequately covered.
Millfield is different to other schools. Each student is treated differently to get the best out of them.
My favourite thing about Millfield is the diversity it offers. Being an international student, I was quite surprised at the number of students from other countries in the school. While getting to know people I have learnt so much about different cultures and traditions that are truly intriguing.
I have made friends for life from all around the world which is truly amazing.
Every student has the opportunity to develop themselves in all aspects of school life and the school makes it very easy for us to organise ourselves so we can enjoy ourselves and achieve our personal goals.
I play hockey and have been fortunate enough to play for the 1st team since Year 11. I also play the saxophone where I enjoy playing in Jazz Band and Symphonic Winds in termly concerts. I have been involved in CCF and am currently completing my DofE Silver Award. I have also taken part and achieved awards in physics and mathematics Olympiads.
I am studying maths, further maths, physics and chemistry and I hope to study engineering post-Millfield.
I would advise someone who is coming to Millfield to really get stuck in. There are so many different avenues you can take on your journey through the school and the only way you will know which one to pick is to give them all a try.
