Our Wish List comprises of equipment from departments across both the Prep and Senior school which would add to the learning experience of Millfield students. If you feel that you can get involved and contribute to an area of the school that resonates most with you, or your family, please do get in touch.
MILLFIELD PREP SCHOOL
Kettlebells, strength bands, mini bands, packs of 4 slam balls, plyometric boxes, 8 wall mounted pull up bars: £1834
By obtaining this equipment we will be able to further progress the athletic development of our students. The equipment will help develop all aspects of physical performance while educating students on training methods and techniques that will be built upon as they progress through their sporting journey.
Cricket Cage: £1200
This will allow us to have two nets on the grass pitches, making practise more realistic and also extending the cricket facilities for games and club practise sessions for both boys and girls.
2 x Flashforge Dreamer 3D Printers: £1800
If we were to have access to 3D printing we would be able to show students their designs made into real life models. Students could also enhance their CAD skills
MILLFIELD SENIOR SCHOOL
Seiko electronic starting gun PS110: £1,999
The Seiko electronic starting gun will enhance athletes experience and competition days hosted by Millfield. This could be used by many sports.
SkyTrak simulator: £1,150 each (total £6,900)
Six SkyTrak simulators to add to the new Indoor Golf Centre. The technology is perfect for club and ball data and for recording yardage after each stroke – a must for all golfers. The additional units would allow instrumentation across each of the bays in the centre.
4 x open canoe: £5,500
Providing a fleet of open boats for students to use during Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions, as well as to help develop paddling skills as part of the adventure sports programme.
2 x Sony A7 III Digital Cameras with 24-105mm lens: £2,649
Currently, we have two Sony cameras but that is not sufficient to support the growing number of A-level students. An additional two high-quality mirrorless cameras will support students to create high-standard imagery. These cameras are industry standard and would help to ensure students are fully prepared to handle such equipment beyond A-level.
Infrared camera: £1,900
An infrared camera would update our current equipment and improve resolution and response. It could also be used to link to live monitor and make an inspiring museum-quality exhibit
Ski race tools: £2,500
The provision of mobile work benches and tools to sharpen and maintain race skis at the weekly training sessions, currently supported by coaching with Impulse Ski Racing and also at the major schools’ races in UK and Europe. These items are crucial for our students to be able to compete at the highest school levels, in a secure and safe way as possible
