Millfield at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games
23 Millfield athletes and coaches took part in the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, bringing home 15 medals.
The first gold medal was achieved by current student Filip Nowacki who claimed victory for Jersey in the men’s 200m breaststroke as well as claiming silver in the men’s 100m breaststroke.
The next gold medal was won by OM Jazmine Sawyers who finished first in the women’s long jump for team England.
OM James Guy claimed three silver medals, finishing second in the men's 200m freestyle and helping England to silver in both the men's 4x100m freestyle relay and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay. Fellow England athlete OM Elise Thorner added to the medal tally claiming a silver medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
Representing Wales, former performance squad member Matthew Richards collected four medals, winning silver in the men's 100m freestyle and men's 200m freestyle, alongside bronze medals in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay. OM Kieran Bird added two bronze medals, contributing as a heat swimmer in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay before helping Wales to bronze in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay. Representing Scotland OM Lauren Bell, won bronze in Women's Team Sprint at the velodrome. Current student Meghan Higgs helped Wales win bronze in the Mixed 4x100M Freestyle Relay as a heat swimmer.
Millfield’s 23 selections include eight current students, 12 Old Millfieldians (OMs), two former Performance Swimming Squad members and one member of staff.
