The Nissen Club
In the early days at Millfield, most pupils were taught in old Nissen and small wooden huts, which were phased out in the mid-1970s. Since then, the campus has become spectacularly invested in; however the Nissen huts hold such sentimental value to many and our wish is to continue to celebrate our founding buildings.
The Nissen Club was established in March 2011 and has, over the years, brought OMs together at events taking place at Millfield and in London. Our twice-yearly lunches are immensely popular and well attended, and often members use these occasions to bring their friends together in turn making new connections. Membership is automatic, but not mandatory, when OMs reach 60 years of age.
The Millfield based lunch takes place in May and we hold our London lunch in November. OMs are proud of their Millfield heritage and eager to stay connected to the school and one another; we hope that you will join us for future events.
Next event dates:

Friday 1 May 2026 at Millfield Senior School
Join us for the Summer Nissen Club Lunch at Millfield on Friday, 1 May 2026. Our 1st XI cricket team will be hosting MCC for a match that day, and we thought it would be a good opportunity to combine the two. The cricket commences at 11:45, which you are welcome to join us for, and lunch will be held in The Gaskell Room from 13:00. There will be a 3 course lunch served with wine/beer, soft drinks and coffee; and the cost of the ticket will be £40. Bookings open on 1 December. Partners or guests are very welcome.
Cricket will carry on all afternoon; do join us at the Wilson Pavilion to enjoy some cricket and afternoon tea after lunch.
An optional tour of the school, pre lunch, will commence at noon.
