Applying to Millfield
How to Apply
Anyone interested in applying for a job at Millfield will need to complete an application form, which will be submitted to the Human Resource department, and processed for shortlisting. A curriculum vitae (CV) will not be accepted in place of a completed application form.
Shortlisting will be based on the selection criteria for the role and compared against the information contained within the candidate’s application form, as such it’s important to answer all questions on the application form and supply us with as much information as possible.
The selection process will assess a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, knowledge, aptitudes and abilities. The capability of the individual to perform in the position will be the major factor and in certain roles the ability to work with others will also be considered.
How will I know if my application has been successful?
We endeavour to contact all applicants within four weeks of the vacancy closing date to advise the outcome of their application. Unfortunately, due to the high number of requests we receive we are unable to provide feedback to applicants not invited to interview.
The HR team and/or interview panel will ensure that reasonable adjustments are made for candidates with a disability or special needs, providing notification has been made in advance.
Candidates will be asked both technical / competency-based questions as well as questions that attest to the match of the job description during an interview. All shortlisted applicants will be tested at interview about their suitability to work with children.
What will happen if I am successful following my interview?
A member of the HR team will be in contact if it is decided that an offer of employment is to be made. Offers of employment will usually be made over the telephone, with a formal offer letter being sent in the post. All offers of employment with the school are subject to and will be conditional on the following pre-employment checks.
What will happen if I am unsuccessful
A member of the HR team will be in contact to advise if you have been unsuccessful following your interview and to provide you with feedback.
