Millfield is seeking a dynamic Head of Learning Support Centre (LSC) and SENCo to lead our innovative, CReSTeD-accredited department at the heart of the school. The LSC supports students with Additional Educational Needs (AEN), most commonly Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and is staffed by a skilled team of teachers, tutors, and specialists.
The LSC provides specialist teaching and support for students from Years 9–U6 through timetabled Study Support lessons. It also offers guidance and training for teachers across the school to ensure all students with AEN can thrive in their classrooms.
As Head of LSC, you will lead the department strategically, overseeing the Brilliance Curriculum, staffing, budgets, resources, and teaching standards. You will monitor student progress, support staff development, manage timetables, and contribute to wider school initiatives.
As SENCo, you will manage the AEN register, assessment processes, exam access arrangements, and EHCP provision, liaising with parents, staff, external agencies, and Local Authorities. You will also support student transitions and ensure continuity of provision with the Prep School.
The ideal candidate will hold a current practising certificate in assessing specific learning difficulties issued by a relevant professional association, such as PATOSS, Dyslexia Action, or the British Dyslexia Association, or an equivalent qualification to undertake full diagnostic assessment for specific learning difficulties. They will have experience assessing secondary-level pupils for Additional Educational Needs and exam access arrangements, interpreting diagnostic reports. To be considered for the role candidates must hold a post-graduate SpLD level 7 qualification.

Join Millfield School as the Head of Outdoor Education, where we are seeking an innovative and passionate leader to drive the strategic development and operational delivery of our Outdoor Education and adventurous activities programme, while also coordinating all sports trips and tours.
As Head of Outdoor Education, you will:
- Lead and develop a diverse range of outdoor and adventure programmes, including the “Nine at Millfield” adventure programme, Lower Sixth Induction Camp, and an Adventure Sports programme (indoor climbing, trail cycling, paddle sports, and more).
- Serve as Educational Visits Co-ordinator (Sports).
- Act as the Licenced Organisation Manager for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and manage the school’s Ten Tors teams, delivering training and overseeing participation.
- Organise and deliver overseas expeditions, ensuring outstanding experiences for students.
- Line manage and support a team of outdoor instructors, teacher coaches, and freelance instructors.
- Oversee equipment management, budget planning, and ensure compliance with all governance, health & safety, and safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with academic and pastoral staff to integrate outdoor activities into the wider school life and support Millfield Enterprises holiday programmes.
About You:
- You will hold relevant outdoor qualifications (e.g., Mountain Leader, climbing instructor, outdoor first aid) and have significant experience in delivering outdoor education and adventurous activities.
- You will bring expertise in at least one specialist area such as paddle sports or mountain biking and have experience of delivering walking-based Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions.
- You are passionate about inspiring and engaging young people, with strong organisational and communication skills.
- You will have experience in managing large-scale logistics, staff teams, and budget.
This is a full-time, year-round position working an average of 42 hours per week. Due to the nature of the position, there will be a requirement for weekend and evening work and therefore flexibility is essential. In return, we offer a salary of £42,000 to £47,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience), 10 weeks’ annual leave (to be prioritised outside of term time), plus an extensive range of staff benefits.

Millfield School is seeking a dedicated Sports Administrator to support our busy Sports and Outdoor Education departments.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will be the central point of coordination for our Football and Rugby programmes—managing fixtures, scheduling, communications, and logistical arrangements. You will also play a key part in supporting Outdoor Education, assisting with the planning and administration of expeditions, camps and activity days, as well as assisting with Sports trips and tours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating Football and Rugby fixtures, officials, logistics, and weekly sports schedules
- Maintaining accurate records on our sports management and school systems (e.g., SOCS, iSAMS etc)
- Liaising with staff, pupils, parents, and external schools
- Supporting Outdoor Education with trip planning, risk assessments, permissions, and bookings
- Providing general administrative support to the wider Sports Department
The ideal candidate will:
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Communicate confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, student-focused environment
- Be proficient with digital systems and MS Office
Experience within a school or sports setting, or familiarity with Football, Rugby, or Outdoor Education, would be an advantage but is not essential.
This is a permanent role, working 42 hours per week during term time, spread across Monday to Saturday (a total of 32.6 working weeks per year). The salary is £19,910 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay), based on a full‑time equivalent salary of £28,499.40.

Millfield School is seeking a dynamic Football Coach to join our team on a fixed-term basis for the 2026 Spring term. If you're passionate about developing young talent and delivering high-quality sessions, this is a great opportunity.
Your main focus will be on coaching football programmes across school terms, crafting engaging and impactful sessions. Working closely with the Head of Football, you will contribute to programme planning and communication, developing and documenting coaching session plans, and continuously reviewing opportunities for improvement.
We are looking for candidates with at least an FA Level 2 qualification, although FA Level 3/UEFA B or higher is preferred. With a minimum of three years' coaching experience in youth sports, you should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and a strong commitment to your own professional development.
This is a fixed term contract until 1st April 2026 working 15 hours per week during term time, usually spread across Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We are seeking to employ Sports Coach Graduates for the 2026-2027 Academic Year to contribute to our sports, physical education and boarding programs. We are looking for individuals with experience as a player or early-career coach in football, hockey, netball and rugby specifically.
A graduate placement year in the sports department of Millfield School (senior) will provide an unrivalled opportunity to develop your skills in one of the UK’s leading Independent Schools for boys and girls, aged 13-18 years.

We are seeking coaching graduates to be involved in all aspects of the design and delivery of a programme including planning, coaching, and contributing to the support services (athletic development, analysis, nutrition) of our talented student athletes. Coaching graduates who live in Millfield accommodation will also be expected to contribute to our boarding programme.
Coaching graduates will have the opportunity to develop some of the knowledge and skills gained from an Undergraduate or Masters degree. Successful candidates should be confident, reliable and have good interpersonal skills as well as showing a willingness to be involved in all areas of school life.
Candidates should have recently graduated from a Sports Science, Sports Coaching, or similar degree, or be due to graduate in July 2026. Applicants will have participated regularly in their sport to a good standard and ideally hold coaching qualifications in relevant activities.
The post runs for a full academic year with breaks for School holidays. Graduates with onsite accommodation will work 39 hours per week which will be divided between Sport and boarding commitments (an average of 6 hours per week on evening duties in the boarding programme and one weekend in three). You will receive £14,705.76 salary per annum (inclusive of holiday pay). You will also receive full board and lodgings (non-monetary, to the value of £3,341.10 per annum).
Graduates not living in Millfield accommodation will not be expected to contribute towards the boarding programme and will work the full 39 hours per week in their sport department, receiving £18,538.81 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay).
There is a formal personal development programme provided as part of the placement opportunity which is overseen by the Deputy Director of Sport and many expert staff within the department. This has a value more than £2500.

Millfield School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Co-curricular Drama Lead to join its Dance and Drama Department. Working closely with the Director of Dance and Drama, you will deliver and develop a high-quality co-curricular drama programme that supports both academic and enrichment provision and inspires students of all abilities.
You will oversee the day-to-day running of the co-curricular drama programme, including planning and delivering skills sessions and clubs, monitoring student engagement, and leading rehearsals and meetings. A central part of the role is directing, producing or co-directing school productions in line with the department’s schedule, including Senior and Junior Plays, the Senior Musical, showcase events, National Theatre Connections and small cast productions. You will also provide rehearsal support, coaching and audition preparation, including guidance for drama school, university and youth theatre applications.
The role includes organising and supporting departmental performance events, promoting the drama programme through marketing and social media, and contributing to the department’s internal and external profile. You will support GCSE and A-level Drama rehearsals and performance work, assist with drama-based Shakespeare teaching in Year 9, and offer one-to-one intervention where required. You will also act as Course Lead or Co-Course Lead for Drama Holiday Courses delivered through Millfield Enterprises, involving up to two weeks’ work outside term time.
Applicants should have experience working with young people and a background in theatre and/or directing. An undergraduate degree in Drama and Theatre, or equivalent professional experience, is essential, with teaching or drama coaching experience desirable.
This is a permanent post working 39 hours per week during term time plus four weeks outside term time. Working hours are 8.30am–6.00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8.30am–1.30pm on Wednesday, with some evening and weekend work required. The salary is £33,749.92 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay), with a generous benefits package.

Millfield Prep School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced LAMDA Speech and Drama Coach to provide maternity cover from Easter or sooner. This peripatetic, part-time role involves approximately 13 hours per week, worked across Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The salary is circa £27.06 per hour plus holiday pay, depending on experience .
The successful candidate will teach LAMDA Speech and Drama to pupils from Year 2 through to Year 8, preparing students for graded LAMDA examinations. Teaching will include Acting, Devising, Public Speaking, Verse and Prose, Reading for Performance and Musical Theatre, in line with LAMDA syllabuses and specifications. The role also involves monitoring pupil progress, writing reports in accordance with the school reporting schedule, preparing students thoroughly for examinations and performances, and supporting exam administration and supervision.
You will work closely with the Head of Drama and the Tutor in charge of LAMDA to ensure accurate timetabling, registration and record keeping, and will contribute to the wider Drama co-curricular programme, including events, festivals and promotional activities. Millfield School is looking for an experienced Groom to become a valuable member of our team. This role is suited to individuals who already have hands-on experience working with horses in a professional yard environment and who are confident, competent riders. Applicants must be aged 18 or over (due to the age group of students you’ll be working with).
Our impressive Equestrian Centre boasts spacious indoor and outdoor arenas, accommodating up to 40 horses. With six school horses and numerous student livery horses, you will care for your allocated horses and support the rest of the team in the routine work of the yard including riding and exercising the horses.
Working in a collaborative and supportive environment, you will enjoy being part of a small team dedicated to welfare of the horses in our care and the well-being and education of our teenage students.

You will have two days off per week on a rotating schedule: in Week A, your set weekday off and the following day, and in Week B, your set weekday off and one weekend day.
Recognising your hard work and dedication, Millfield School offers a salary package that includes payment towards ongoing exam and assessment fees. The salary is £30,476.16 per annum and on-site accommodation is available in an ensuite room with shared lounge and kitchen at a rate of £120 per month (plus £120 deposit) which is inclusive of bills. Following completion of the 8-month probation period, there is also the option to keep your horse at Millfield (dependent on available space) for a cost of £173.33 per month.

Housekeeping Cleaners will be responsible for cleaning an allocated area which may be classrooms, offices, sport and art facilities, boarding houses or other school buildings.

Boarding House Cleaner -
- A year-round position (52 weeks), working three hours per day, Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 8.30am and 9.15am. Millfield School seeks casual Leisure Attendants to provide lifeguard cover in our pools during peak hours, particularly late afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
We are looking for confident and communicative individuals who have a valid NPLQ certificate. Key traits include organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, leadership, and dedication to high standards. The preferred candidate will have experience in lifeguarding or in the leisure/customer service sector, though this is not mandatory.
Flexibility is essential, as the role entails varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Key responsibilities include lifeguarding at both Millfield Senior Pool and Millfield Prep Pool, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, codes of practice, and operational protocols to safeguard all users. Additionally, supervision of the Cricket Centre and Golf Centre will be part of the role.
This is a zero-hour contract working predominantly evenings and weekends. The role requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, dependant on our pool bookings. The rate of pay is £11.44 per hour plus statutory holiday pay (applicants aged 21 and over will receive £12.21 per hour).

Millfield School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Swimming Pool and Sports Facilities Duty Manager.
Millfield boasts a distinguished reputation in swimming, encompassing student swim programmes, private lessons, and impressive 50m and 25m pools. Integral to this achievement are our remarkable team of Duty Managers and pool facilities staff.
The successful candidate will hold a current NPLQ qualification, with previous lifeguarding and leadership experience highly desirable. You will be confident working in a busy aquatic environment and bring strong communication, organisational and team-leading skills to the role. Experience within the leisure industry or customer service is also advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a key holder for swimming pool and sports facilities
- Lead, supervise and support a team of lifeguards and swim teachers
- Carry out lifeguard duties at both the Millfield Senior School Pool and Millfield Prep School Pool
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, codes of practice and operating procedures
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across all facilities
- Set up and dismantle equipment as required
- Supervise the Cricket Centre and Golf Centre when required
This is a year-round, part-time position working 16 hours per week on a rota basis covering the opening hours of both our swimming pools during days, evenings and weekends.

Combining a diverse range of engaging responsibilities, the role of a Community Officer at Millfield can be likened to that of a security guard, police community support officer, postie, and events operations personnel all rolled into one. As a Community Officer, you have the opportunity to participate in various tasks from each of these domains, making you the ultimate friendly face on our beautiful campuses in both Street and Glastonbury.
At the core of this role is the responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff while maintaining the smooth functioning of the school. This involves engaging in high-visibility foot patrols, fostering positive relationships with students and staff, managing school deliveries, facilitating event setup and teardown, as well as overseeing the operation of CCTV and safeguarding the premises. Possessing a valid manual driving license is crucial for this role, and though a Security Industry Authority (SIA) license is desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement.

Upon joining our team, you will receive a uniform and comprehensive training to equip you for your duties. This is a full-time, year-round position, working on an 8-hour rotational shift pattern that includes mornings, afternoons, and nights, as well as weekend work. Standard shift times are 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, and 22:00–06:00, with occasional shifts from 11:00–19:00 and 19:00–03:00.
The rate of pay is £13.45 per hour. The annual salary will be dependent on the shift pattern but as an indication, it will be approximately £26,362 per annum.

Millfield School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our vibrant medical centre for a one-year maternity cover position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who enjoys making a real difference in the lives of young people in a dynamic, supportive school environment.
We are looking for a candidate who is highly motivated, empathetic, and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a relevant nursing qualification.
The role will include, but is not limited to:
· Providing Nursing care to all at the when required treatment for general minor injuries,
· Supporting and assisting in providing healthcare of all pupils.
· Health surveillance and health promotion
· Keeping on top of all medical reporting, including ensuring that all pupil records are complete and up to date.
This is a one-year fixed-term position, working the following hours during term time:
· Tuesday: 7.45am – 7.15pm
· Wednesday: 12pm – 7.15pm
· Friday: 1pm – 7.15pm
· Alternate weekends (Saturday or Sunday on a rota): 7.45am – 7.15pm
