Millfield wishes to appoint an outstanding full-time Teacher of Chemistry from September 2024 who will inspire our students in the classroom and contribute to the pastoral and wider curriculum life of our day and boarding provision. The ability to teach another Science to GCSE level would be advantageous but not essential. We are looking for an organised and dynamic teacher with a passion for the subject and a desire to teach a range of ages and abilities. All full-time member of teaching staff are also expected to play a full part in the extensive sport or co-curricular programmes, be a group tutor and be attached to a boarding.
There may also be an opportunity for a suitable candidate to take on the teacher in charge of the Year 9 within the chemistry department. Such a position would be perfect for a candidate looking to develop their leadership and management experience with an academically strong department. The position would involve working with the Head of Department in the strategic development of the department and responsibilities for our bespoke Year 9 programme.

We are seeking to employ Physiotherapy and/or Sports Therapy Graduates for the 2024-2025 academic year to contribute to our medical, sports, and boarding programs. A graduate therapist year in the sports department of Millfield School will provide an unrivalled opportunity to develop your skills in one of the UK’s leading Independent Schools for boys and girls, aged 2-18 years.

We are seeking Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy Graduates to be involved in all aspects of the assessment, design, and delivery of rehabilitation programmes and contributing to the holistic recovery and development of our student athletes. Therapy graduates who live on site will also be expected to contribute to our boarding programme.
Therapy graduates will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills gained from an Undergraduate or Master's degree. Successful candidates should be confident, reliable and have good interpersonal skills as well as showing a willingness to be involved in all areas of school life. Physiotherapy candidates should hold membership of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. Sports Therapists must be a member of British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) or Society of Sports Therapists with full indemnity insurance to practice within the U.K.
The post runs for a full academic year from September through June, with breaks for school holidays. Graduates will also be expected to work 2 weeks during non-term time which typically occurs during late August to contribute to pre-school training camps.
Graduates with onsite accommodation will work 39 hours per week which will be divided between Sport and boarding commitments (an average of 6 hours per week on evening duties in the boarding houses and one weekend in three). You will receive £14,260.35 salary per annum (inclusive of holiday pay), plus full board and lodgings (non-monetary, to the value of £3,006.99 per annum).
Graduates not living onsite will not be expected to contribute towards the boarding programme and will work the full 39 hours per week in the athletic development department, receiving £17,267.34 per annum (inclusive of holiday pay).
There is a formal personal development programme provided as part of the placement opportunity which is overseen by the Head of Student Athlete Support and many expert staff within the department. This has a value more than £2500.

Millfield School are seeking a creative and energetic Associate Performance Tennis Coach to deliver first-class coaching & competition programmes for school, county, regional and national level tennis players.
Millfield Tennis has a rich history of success from the schools’ arena to the development of international players. We are currently within the LTA Performance Network with a growing reputation of delivering a High-Performance Tennis Programme. We have outstanding indoor and outdoor facilities, and an integrated programme of player scholarships, education and support.
The Associate Performance Tennis Coach will integrate into a fully engaged team of coaches with a common goal of giving each pupil the best opportunity to exit Millfield School into a top-level UK/US University or with tennis as a valuable life experience. Lifestyle management and the development of the pupil are central to our philosophy. The Associate Performance Tennis Coach will lead the coaching and planning for Squad sessions and Individual players, be responsible for the planning and delivery of competitive schedules and provide parent feedback within their role.
The successful candidate will be working towards their level 4 Senior Performance Coach award, or equivalent, and will also have had experience playing the sport to a high level. We are a mixed school and therefore the role would include coaching girls and boys.
The standard workweek comprises an average of 32 hours from Monday to Saturday during term time, with an additional commitment of 4 weeks outside of term (36.6 total working weeks).
You will receive an annual salary of £18,680.11 (inclusive of holiday pay) with the option to supplement the salary with additional private lessons (the hourly rate will be dependent on the level of coaching qualification held by the successful applicant).

The graduate placement in the sports department of Millfield School will provide an unrivalled opportunity to develop your skills in one of the UK’s leading independent schools for boys and girls.
This is a fixed term position for the 2024 summer term (22nd April to 28th June 2024). Graduates with onsite accommodation will work 39 hours per week which will be divided between athletic development and boarding commitments (an average of 6 hours per week on evening duties in the boarding programme and one weekend in three). We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable RSE Nurse to join our team at Millfield School. The successful candidate will have a responsibility to provide medical knowledge on anatomy, STIs, and pregnancy during RSE presentations in boarding house groups. Additionally, they will need to stay up to date with current health trends and updates in this area related to sexual health within the RSE team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safeguarding children is the responsibility of all members of Millfield staff.
• Present the RSE programme to individual house groups with RSE tutors.
• Assist the Medical Centre in keeping the RSE resource boxes in good order and fully replenished (i.e. condoms for practical demonstrations).
• Attend RSE team meetings held twice a year and any training required within the RSE team. Be willing to lead part of the training on current trends if needed.
• Co-ordinate regularly with the HOD RSE and advise on trends/issues/feedback from sessions.
• Participate in small group work on intimacy/use of porn and other current themes in YP sexual health during RSE sessions.
• Any other duties that your line manager sees fit, providing that such duties are appropriate to your role.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Registered Nurse with a current nursing license.
• Experience working in RSE, sexual health, or related fields.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to deliver effective presentations and facilitate group discussions.
• Up-to-date knowledge of sexual health, contraception, and STI prevention.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance on RSE in schools.
This role is only available during term time, every Friday 4:00pm - 5:45pm

As our Learn-to-Swim programme continues to grow, we are seeking passionate individuals who are dedicated to developing swimmers and contributing to the expansion of our scheme. To maintain our high standards, we are specifically seeking candidates who hold (or are working towards) an SEQ Level 1 or Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification. Experience in teaching both pre-school and school-age children is highly valued.

Due to the nature of the role the hours of work for most positions can be flexed to meet the requirements of the successful candidate.
Boarding House cleaning hours –
3 hours per day, Monday – Friday, and 2 hours on alternate Saturdays (typically 8.30am-10.30am). This is a year-round post (52 weeks). Start times are flexible between 8.30am and 9.15am. On occasion, you may also be required to work a Sunday during non-term time for which you will receive reasonable notice and the hours back in lieu during the week.

As a Day House Manager, you will be joining a small team of staff who work together to ensure that the pupils feel safe, secure and at home, whilst also playing a pivotal part in making sure the house runs smoothly and efficiently.

£11.44 per hour
Job type: Fixed term from July to September 2024, up to 40 hours per week. Hours of work between 7am and 8pm, to include weekends.
Location: Street
Job Description: Duties to include serving meals to the pupils, clear down and reset dining hall. General cleaning, washing up and assisting with prep should it be required. Full training and uniform will be provided.

Job Description: General kitchen prep and assisting the chefs to produce breakfast, lunch and supper. Uniform, training, and meals on duty provided.
