Reception Class Forest School

Just a short hop from Glastonbury Tor, a visit to our school will show you the extent of the space and freedom that our children enjoy. The walled and sensory gardens, Forest School and apple orchards are just some of the spaces our children explore on a daily basis.

Many classes are taken outdoors; hunting for mini-beasts, growing produce in the garden, examining pond life and making dens. Our educational programme also includes trips to nature reserves, stately homes, farms and other local places of interest.

The Forest School is a special place for our children, where they are encouraged to test boundaries and explore taking risks in the great outdoors. The messy mud kitchen is a favourite attraction alongside baking rolls in the bread oven, learning to cook over an open fire, peeling vegetables and sawing wood which all add to their skills and growing sense of independence.

Being located on the same site as Millfield Prep, we take advantage of the extensive grounds; often taking walks of discovery through the fields, woods, orchard, wildlife areas and going to see the ponies in the stables.

Millfield Pre-Prep is an Eco-School and we are proud of our Green Flag status, encouraging the children to reduce, reuse and recycle.
