From what has been a momentous term, with 12 concerts, involving over 140 individual student performances, the Music School presented its immense and ever-popular Music At Millfield concert to end the term
Amongst our thriving calendar of events, our fifth event in nine days saw our second Evening Recital. After having an enjoyable concert last Monday, this concert featured an array of students playing some remarkable repertoire to reflect the immense talent these students inhabit, as well as the mere popularity of performance opportunity within the music department.
As a result of the global pandemic, Millfield’s annual Showcase charity talent show in aid of the school’s three chosen charities was broadcast online to students and parents this month.
Millfield Music had their first Evening Recital of the academic year, an evening full of high-quality classical music from our exceptionally talented students.
After the success of the Virtual Cushion Concert before half term, Millfield Prep's Music Department hosted the first Tea and Music Concert of the year last week, giving talented musicians in Years 6, 7 and 8 the chance to perform.

Millfield musicians had the opportunity to perform with their teachers and tutors for the annual Staff and Scholars’ recital in November. During the course of the evening, the programme was filled with a wide variety of ensembles and genres, and above all to showcase the many talents across the department.
Millfield’s first evening concert in the Johnson Hall brought us The Open Musicians’ Platform to kick start the academic year. This concert is made for our intermediate students, between grades four to seven where we saw a great range of repertoire from various genres and instrumentation take stage, as well as some students performing for the first time in front of a socially distanced audience, as well as viewers at home via the live stream on Millfield’s Senior School YouTube Channel.
Last week, Millfield Prep hosted the first Cushion Concert of the year via YouTube Premiere.
Representatives from day and boarding houses came together in a revised format to perform classic hits as part of the annual House Song competition, amended this year in line with social distancing and Covid-19 secure guidance.
