Millfield’s musicians took in our second ensemble showcase of the year, Music at Millfield. The concert celebrates the hard work and dedication our students have shown throughout the year towards their collaborative music making endeavours, and for many of them this was their last major ensemble concert of the academic year.

Millfield musicians are heading to prestigious universities to study a plethora of music courses.

The culmination of three weeks of incredible music making within the Millfield Music School was the Instrumental Finals.

The second final in the Millfield Musician of the Year Competition 2022 was the Contemporary Finals. After a seriously impressive week of heats, those selected from the Vocal, Instrumental and Songwriting categories competed in the finals, adjudicated by Simon Chalk.

The Millfield Musician of the Year finals are a culmination of various heats which have occurred over the course of this half-term, and they showcase some of Millfield’s finest musical talent.

The House Song Competition is one of the highlights in many of the student’s calendars and this year was no different. This year's Abba-themed competition saw all house groupings record their entries, one main choir performance of an Abba number, and one chamber choir entry.

Old Millfieldian Rosie Smith has recorded her debut album at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London, with a team of internationally renowned producers.

The Staff and Scholars’ Recital was a joyous occasion for both performers and the audience.

Millfield Upper Sixth musician Hamish Barry has been offered Winter Residency with the prestigious and highly renowned National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He will embark on a 10-day residency between 27th December – 5th January, playing with the cello section, culminating in a performance at one of Britain’s most distinguished professional concert venues.
