Old Millfieldian and CEO of Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust, Emma Dagnes, has recently received an OBE, which stands for Office of the Order of the British Empire. This is the second highest Order of the British Empire award, which she has been awarded in recognition of her services to heritage in the King’s birthday honours list.

We caught up with Emma on the news and her reflections on her time at Millfield:

"Receiving an OBE for services to Heritage is recognition of the highest kind and I am honoured to have received the award. However, awards, whatever level, are always the result of great teamwork. It led me to reflect on the support of the myriad of teams in my life. In particular my time at Millfield and the impact it has had on me, which was made possible by my parents, who sacrificed so much to send me to Millfield Prep and Senior School. They felt that Millfield, with its supportive environment, would unlock my potential. How right they were. Having struggled with dyslexia, Millfield instilled a belief system in me that anything and everything was possible. Millfield gave me confidence for life, friends for life and a desire to pay back the privilege. I’m proud to call myself an Old Millfieldian."

Emma attended both Millfield Prep and Millfield Senior School between 1989-1997. We are proud to have played a part in such an outstanding journey and are truly delighted to witness her receive this well-deserved recognition. A huge congratulations, Emma!
