Millfield Athletes Bring Home Fifteen Commonwealth Medals
Millfield athletes enjoyed outstanding success at the Commonwealth Games, securing a total of 15 medals across swimming, athletics, and cycling. Including two golds, seven silvers and six bronzes.
Representing Jersey, Filip Nowacki led the way with a gold medal in the men's 200m breaststroke and a silver in the men's 100m breaststroke.
OM Jazmine sawyers also claimed gold in the women’s long jump for team England.
Competing for England, OM James Guy claimed three silver medals, finishing second in the men's 200m freestyle and helping England to silver in both the men's 4x100m freestyle relay and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay. Fellow England athlete OM Elise Thorner added to the medal tally claiming a silver medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
OM Kieran Bird added two bronze medals, contributing as a heat swimmer in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay before helping Wales to bronze in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
Meghan Higgs also represented Wales, earning a bronze medal after swimming in the heats of the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay and playing her part in the team's podium finish.
OM Lauren bell won Bronze in the Women's Team Sprint at the velodrome for team Scotland.
Representing Wales, former performance squad member Matthew Richards collected four medals, winning silver in the men's 100m freestyle and men's 200m freestyle, alongside bronze medals in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay and the men's 4x200m freestyle relay
Millfield athletes made a significant contribution to the success of England, Wales, Scotland and Jersey throughout the Games.
Swimmers Tilly Collymore (Grenada), Sophie Davies (Wales), Ethan Stubbs-Green (Antigua), Riley Watson (Cayman Islands), Katie Greene (Gibraltar), Emily Hughes (Northern Ireland), Imara-BellaThorpe (Kenya), Evan Jones (Scotland), Anna Morgan (Scotland), Jade Phiri (Zambia), Mia Phiri (Zambia), Emily Richards (England), Emma Harvey (Bermuda), Tatian Tostevin (Guernsey), all competed at the Games. They were joined by Millfield coach Keiron Piper (Jersey) alongside decathlete Jami Schuelter.
With the Commonwealth Games completed, Millfield is gearing up for the upcoming Olympic cycle leading to the 2028 Olympics.

A Millfield student is celebrating exceptional grades in five A Levels and an AS Level, placing her in the top 0.1% nationally for academic achievement.
Emily Brooke received an astonishing A*, A*, A, A in her five A levels alongside an A in AS German.

A Photography student is celebrating top A Level results after creating groundbreaking images of insects, worthy of “outstanding national and international recognition.”
Will Hutchison, from Somerset, meticulously produced highly detailed photos of beetles for his A level Art final project at Millfield School, after developing a unique form of focus-stacked macro photography.

Millfield Prep School is delighted to announce the appointment of former professional hockey player Craig Boyne as its new Director of Sport.
Craig will take up the role in September 2026 and brings extensive experience as a Director of Sport, senior school leader and international athlete, having represented Australia at the highest level of hockey.
